Good aftenoon!
Here's some little sketch from the character development stage of a recent sketchbook. Current developments include developing the character of 'Baba Yaga'- she should be quite exciting once she makes it to the felted puppet stage. There may even be some 'Yaga related treats for you to enjoy, very soon, as long as you're good and eat your greens.

British Library, Pearl Grey loves you!
Good evening!
What a wonderful day! A little while ago, a project required the tracing of an old fairy tale I read as a bairn. Well, it was quite grisly in detail (by today's standards) and I did begin to doubt whether the details recalled were accurate.
But all hail the British Library! Their lovely and very knowledgeable staff have managed to track it down for me. It turns out that the story I had been thinking of was called 'The Hobyahs' and it's a very old folk tale. There are several versions from what I can ascertain, I seem to recall a version which sees the old man putting his canine companion back together again, and no little girl (but the old lady being carted away instead). I did find such a version online too (isn't the internet sometimes a beautiful gift?)
You can read the story here in order to find out what I'm wittering on about:

Just a trifle!
Good Afternoon!
Isn't it strange when you're drawing how the image can begin to resemble people you know? I've never understood whether that's a coincidence or not- I suppose it's bound to happen since your memory is sometimes the bank of source imagery.
Anywho, hope everyone had a smashing new year!

How Eggciting!
Good evening all!
My, my, we have had a busy day today. Putting the finishing touches to the film about Eglentine (although not the finishing touches to her, there's been a bit of creative time saving going on).
Here's a sneaky peek of stills. She'll change a bit before submission (we don't want her to look so 'muppety' now do we) but this is her 'latest' look.
